Yellow Pages & SEOOne of the most complicated parts of search engine optimization (SEO) is optimizing your website to achieve ’search engine friendliness’ - the ’state’ where your site is most likely to get high rankings in the SERPS (search engine page results).

Well, here are the key on-page SEO secrets to take your SEO to the next level:

Secret #1 - Modify Your Meta Tags

The meta tags include the title, keywords and description of your page. These tags can usually be modified by going under ‘Properties’ in your web editor. Targeting a keyword phrase for prime rankings in the SERPS? Be sure to include it in all three areas of title, keywords and description.

Secret #2 - Optimize Your Headlines/Titles

Optimize the headlines and titles on your page and turn their text type from ‘Normal’ to ‘Header 1′ or ‘H1′ in your web editor. Your headlines and titles should include the keywords you are targeting. Headers receive more attention from the search engines

Secret #3 - Eliminate Javascript/Flash

Eliminate or turn off all Javascript and Flash elements on your page. These are generally bad for search engine optimization purposes. In fact, a page that is fully Flash will have a very hard time getting good SE rankings. Focus on the content!

Secret #4 - Optimize Your Content For Optimum Keyword Density

Keyword density is the percentage a keyword appears in proportion to the total number of words on the page. You would want to achieve a keyword density of at least 2% to 5% for optimum on-page optimization results.
